The Associação Sul Catarinense de Xadrez (ACX) is a private non-profit entity, founded in 2008 and managed by parents and athletes. Its main objective is to promote and encourage chess as a sport, educational, and social inclusion tool.

Since 2021, it has been working in partnership with the City of Criciúma, Santa Catarina/Brazil, through the Municipal Sports Foundation (FME-Criciúma), to promote chess at the municipal and regional levels. It had a similar role during the “Xadrez que Educa” project in Içara, Santa Catarina, from 2012 to 2020.
